The 2nd Brad Race Extended Family & Friends 5K/10K Fun Run, Walk, or Bike

Thanks to everyone who came out to exercise a little and spend time together. We were fewer in number this time by about 3 or 4 people, but I think we all had a great time running, walking and biking, but most of all laughing together. I'm planning on changing the start/end location due to the accidents that have almost happened these last 2 times. We've been lucky that some of our kids haven't been smashed by bikers on the bike path. It will probably be held next time at the bike path near Riverwalk Park. I hope everyone enjoyed their time spent out in the great weather we had. Please spread the word and encourage more people to come out. I decided to increase the amount of times we get together for this from 2 to 4 times a year, so those of us that want to somewhat stay in shape have something to look forward to. I'll be posting the next date soon.

Get ready to RUN, WALK, or BIKE!!

I've moved the date back for this event just a bit because it simply snuck up on me and I wasn't ready for it. It will be held on November 14th, same place, same time. The weather might be a little cold, but I figured we all know how to deal with that so thats that. Bring your finely tuned bodies and lets have FUN!!

SUCCESS, AND FUN TIMES

In my mind the 1st semi annual Brad Race 5k/10k fun run was a success. We had a great time running, walking, and biking together. The turnout for the run was great. We had everyone from kids in strollers, older kids and adults on bikes, professional speed walkers, and of course all those who ran. All together there was a grand total of 29 people including adults and children that participated. We all completed the 5k portion of the course, with my dad and mom amazingly finishing half of the 5k. What a GREAT JOB to all.

The Brad Race 1st Semi Annual Extended Family & Friends 5K/10K Fun Run, Walk, or Bike

April 4th, 2009 marks the first ever Brad Race family and friends fun run.  All those who plan on participating in either the 5K or 10K will be meeting at 9am in the bike path parking lot that is located just north of Cal State on Stockdale Hwy.  The 10K start time will be 9:15am and the 5k start time will be 9:30am.  Please arrive on time so all those involved will be able to start together.  I plan on having a get together after the run at Hughes Park in Pheasant Run at 11:30am.  Jakes Tex Mex will be provided to those who pre pay $12 dollars per adult to eat, and if you don't want Jakes you can provide your own food.  I've set a deadline of March 14th to have your money in for Jakes in order for us to set everything up with them.  I thought of the idea of putting this together because I figured that every once in awhile I need something to look forward to that gives me the motivation to get off my rear and exercise.  In case you haven't noticed it has semi annual in the title for the sole purpose of giving not only me but all those who plan on participating a double shot of motivation for the years to come.  Hopefully this will be something that your whole family can enjoy doing together.  Everyone that is alive and willing to come out and join us is invited (yes even the little ones, that's why it's a fun run, walk, or bike).  I want to make it clear that there is no cost for this fun run unless you want to eat Jakes Tex Mex.  I'd like a head count of those planning to participate on or before March 14th, so please contact me or Lisa.  HAPPY TRAINING!
